About

Learn anything, a little every day.

Lucioly is a free learning app. It turns any subject into short lessons you can read in two minutes, or in five when you want more, and links them into paths from the basics up.

What you'll find

  • Lessons on more than 1,600 questions, from "Why is a rocket almost entirely fuel?" to "Did colonial scholars invent Hinduism?", across science, history, economics, psychology, technology, art, philosophy and more.
  • Paths: over 100 ready-made ones (how the internet works, the Cold War, understanding AI agents…), or one built for your own question, easiest step first.
  • Every day: the news explained in plain words, with its sources, and small rituals: a picture, a question, a fact, tonight's moon.
  • In English and French, free, with no ads.

How the lessons are made

  • Each lesson is written from named sources (encyclopedias, papers, official documentation), with the help of AI.
  • Every claim is tied to a quote copied word for word from its source, and a program checks that each quote really appears there before a lesson can be published.
  • A second, independent review reads each lesson against its sources: claims that go further than the quote are cut or reworded, debates are attributed to the people who hold each view, and no verdict is given in our own voice where experts disagree.
  • The sources are listed at the end of every lesson, so you can always read further and check.
  • Lessons are re-checked over time, and corrected when a source changes.

Ask for a subject

If Lucioly doesn't cover something yet, ask for it from the Paths page: the most requested subjects are written first.
